A few weeks after install, I got a warning message saying BitD was no longer responding - contact Tech Support. I did, got an automated reply telling me to run some diagnostics. I did. Now we're in week 3, and no response yet after I pinged them two more times. Tried the phone # on the website, but after several automated menus they tell you to go to the website.

Don't buy it.

This is a great product! It scans my computer very fast (about 20 minutes as opposed to Norton's hour-long scans). It's very convenient that you can download the free 30-day trial on their website so you can decide for yourself if it's an improvement over what you currently have for internet protection.

When I bought this about 6 months ago, I was trying to find something to replace my CA Internet Security because I was unhappy with its performance.

This product is great when it comes to protecting my computer. It found viruses that my old software NEVER did. It has blocked multiple attempts on my PC, and I have had minimal problems with it.

First of all, let me say that I really think this is a good product. The interface is clean, its antivirus is top notch and so is the firewall.

BitDefender detected trojans other security suites missed. Even though I'm still unsure about whether they were false positives, I'd rather err on the side of caution.

I bought this product to protect an older Windows XP PC (5 years old), and a new 64-bit Windows XP (2002 SP2) laptop. Installation was flawless on both machines. I expected to have to download a 64-bit update of BitDefender "by hand" from the author's web site, but the software on the CD that I received worked w/o any problems, and without any manual work on my part.
